As the school year inches to an end, CCS has a sports banquet on Thursday, May 24. The following CCS Sports were recognized: girls volleyball and boys soccer in the fall; boys and girls basketball in the winter; and girls soccer, varsity boys golf, and last but not least co-ed varsity track & field in the spring.
Throughout the year there isn’t always that much recognition of the athletes on each team. Even though some events still remain in action we have a yearly sports banquet to honor the coaches and athletes of Calvary . Awards are given like most improved, MVP offense and defense, Calvary Legends, and boy/girl athlete of the year.
Some of those Legends would include: Patrick Stewart, Sydni Clark, Briana Zehr, Taylor Richards, and Hayley Mohr just to name of few off the top of my head. All of these students have demonstrated outstanding athleticism, great leadership, and have worked hard in their sport of “experience”. They’ve all been voted on by the coaches to be the top performers in our league/area/state or have made it to a State-Wide competition.
This event invites parents to hear a few words from the coaches (some speeches longer than others) about the athletes they’ve worked with, and exciting moments of the season from the middle school to the high school level. Although the banquet is a wrap up of this years athletics the girls Varsity soccer team is still in play. Their first round of districts will he hosted at CCS May 29 against
